How It All Began
Home Improvements of Texas was founded in June 2024, right before Hurricane Beryl hit and shortly after tornadoes struck the Houston area. We started out as a subcontractor for a roofing company, handling all their fences and tree removal work. While helping this company out, we noticed opportunities for improvements within their roofing process and asked to get into sales with them while continuing the fence and tree work. The Roofing Company agreed and we helped them close 3 roofs in the first month of working with them and a sales rep.
Then Hurricanes Helen and Milton hit, so I headed to Florida to help residents tarp Their roofs and clear out debris. While we were there, we met amazing people, enjoyed some incredible local food, and even crossed paths with Urban Meyer—though he already had help.
From there, we connected with a contractor in McCormick, South Carolina, assisting the DOT with debris cleanup. Despite only having a truck and trailer, we picked up the equipment we needed along the way and worked on the project for about three months. During those 3 month my team faced many hardships. We had trucks break down, equipment break, contractors not pay us, it was a crazy time. But by the grace of god we got through it and eventually got paid, got the trucks and equipment fixed , and made it back home.
When we returned to Texas, we decided to branch out on our own with the roofing thing. With the resources and training provided to us by our ABC Supply Representative and the experience we gained from working with the previous roofing company, we developed a system to change to standards of the roofing industry.
